Faith Formation for the Jeannette Catholic Community

Our parish communities of Sacred Heart and Ascension are gearing up to begin our Faith

Formation season this October (2023). Our team looks forward to the opportunities to walk alongside you and your family as we being this new year of formation and ministry together.

Please note that youth currently enrolled in kindergarten through seventh grade for the 2023-24 year are eligible for Faith Formation.

Our goal is to journey with our young church one evening per month.  These nights include prayer, lessons, fun activities, small group discussions, and interactive opportunities to build community.  Format includes student learning time, parent teaching tips, group activity and prayer time all geared toward helping families complete their monthly homework assignments.

Sessions will take place the first Wednesday of the month (except where otherwise noted).  The evening begins at 6:00 PM and concludes at 8:00 PM. The full list of dates can be found below.

If you plan to join us for the school year, Family Registration is required. The registration form is attached.

Confirmation

The students in this Sacrament Preparation program are young people in eighth grade or older. They have been participating in Faith Formation with their family throughout their younger school years and now will move into a “small mentoring group” model for this sacrament year of study.

A Confirmation Retreat, numerous service project opportunities and prayerful reflection experiences round out the year of formation for the sacrament of Confirmation.

Confirmation Mentoring Groups: This Faith Formation model partners 8th grade students (6-8 per group) with 2 adult mentors who share their faith while guiding the students through a course of study meant to strengthen their call to an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
