Sacramental Preparation
Guiding you and your second grader through two of the Sacraments of Initiation
Children in second grade or at least seven years of age are invited to be a part of the Faith Formation process in which they will prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation (also known as penance and confession) and First Eucharist. This preparation process is family based, age-appropriate and designed to help your children to grow in reverence and understanding of themselves as disciples of Jesus within the family of our Catholic Church. This process will upon their Baptism and the understanding they we are all children of God.
Our goal is to work with families to assist them as a primary part of the process in instructing and preparing their children for the sacraments. A central part of children’s preparation for the sacraments is their regular participation in the Sunday Mass, as well as participation in Faith Formation sessions. Therefore, especially during this year of Sacrament Preparation, we encourage you to make regular Sunday celebration of Mass a family priority. The 8:30 AM liturgy at Ascension Parish will be an integral part of our Sacramental Preparation year. Faith Formation once per month on Wednesdays evenings will also be a key part of preparation.

Families should bring their completed Sacramental Preparation Registration Form with them to this meeting, as well as applicable Baptismal Certificates. There is no fee. You received the preparation form via mail back in early August.
